Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Hope you all had lovely hols and are now looking forward to a new year full of promise. I painted the small painting on the left for an xmas lottery that was held in the beginning of January in a network of which I am part. I was greatly honoured and happy to see that the winner fell in love with my painting at once. Hooray, I mean you can never be sure, people have such different tastes that it could have been a less enthusiastic winner that won my painting but happily such was not the case.

The second painting, Graphic Tiger, was an experimental painting of mine, venturing into a more abstract and less realistic artform, yet keeping the subject matter obvious and still pertaining to one of my favourite motifs: animals. Haven’t decided yet how I feel about it, but have received lots of positive feedback about it, so I guess I pulled it off! Yay for, once again, killing your darlings and experimenting with and broadening ones horizons!

With the xmas holidays coming up in December, I also decided to give my smallest child’s teachers each, one of the above framed postcards of my art series ”Beauty on the Savannah”. Always a risky deal, if they hadn’t liked my artwork, they could’ve been really disappointed, but to my great joy, all four of them seemed really thankful and happy for the artwork, so that also made my day.

After a great xmas holiday away with family, I’m now full of inspiration and ready to get painting and creating again!

Until next time, have a great start to the year and remember to always be kind: ”Kindness, it doesn’t cost a thing, so sprinkle that sh*t EVERYWHERE! <3 <3 <3”
